Larry Elder Makes The Case For Why He Should Be GOP’s 2024 Nominee

Conservative radio host Larry Elder, who announced back in April he would be joining the 2024 presidential race, joined Forbes to discuss his views on race in America, abortion, the economy, and who is best to take on President Biden in the next election. Elder is squaring off against Donald Trump, the far-and-away leader in the polls, and someone who Elder has once described as being “a big fan of.” The radio host, however, does not see himself as contending against the former president. “I’m not running against Donald Trump,” Elder says. “I’m running against the Biden-Harris administration.”

With just over a month until the Republican National Committee’s first debate on August 23rd in Milwaukee, Elder is working to meet the strict threshold for participation enumerated by the RNC. The qualifications, laid out in June, requires candidates to have at least 40,000 donors, with the minimum of 200 being from 20 different states. Candidates must also poll at least 1% in 3 polls deemed qualifying, with at least two of those polls being national, and pledge to support the Republican nominee. While he has not met that threshold yet, Elder says that he has every intention of joining fellow GOP contenders on the stage next month.
